out with the old, in with the new

As we get set to usher in 2012, I’ve been reflecting on the year that was. Aside from a few highlights–creating this blog, reconnecting with old friends, basking in the pride of my kids’ accomplishments–I have to say it’s been a pretty tough year. I will be happy to see 2011 end.

The good news is that, looking forward, there is a lot to get excited about. I have a couple of new projects in the works (mum’s the word, for now) that I am enthusiastic to begin. The bad news is that it’s very likely that the frequency of my blog posts will be affected, at least for a while. I hope you’ll bear with me…I will try to post as often as I can to continue to inspire passion in your kitchen.

In the meantime, we look forward to a quiet evening spent by the fire with close friends on New Year’s Eve. We’ll have our usual over-the-top spread of homemade blinis and caviar, a lovely assortment of cheeses, meats and patés, decadent chocolates, and lots of champagne. I wish you and yours a delicious and very happy new year–may 2012 bring you all love, prosperity, peace, and lots of good food!
